The irony of the gym parking lot.
I am writing this post because I am completely confused.
People go to gym to exercise right? Do weights, run on the treadmill, take classes, etc?
If they are there to exercise, why on earth do people have to park so close to the front door? Surely a few extra steps wouldn’t hurt, maybe it would be good for people to warm up a little.
I go to gym at the Virgin Active at Tygervalley and on a daily basis my mind is blown by people, who park on curbs, in bushes and all over the place, to avoid taking ten extra steps for a parking slightly further from the entrance. I’m not talking about there being no other parking available, just pure lazyness (or crazyness?).
Am I the only person who sees the irony?

My wife and I were actually joking about the same thing a few weeks ago… it boggles my mind!

I think we do it because of the “what if” factor. What if it starts raining, what if the wind blows, what if your car gets broken into.

Jaun ruined part of my comment as I was going to ask: Was it raining? Was the wind blowing, maybe they just had their hair done? Or maybe they want to be noticed! Notice “their” cool car, or the fact that they are there and not sitting at home on their arses! I dont fall into any of those categories by the way – I take the first park I can see coming into the lot. I rather walk the extra few meters than circle the lot for 5 minutes!

I’m sorry but the gym parking lot isn’t *that* big that even rain/wind would be factors
I see people parking their jeeps on the curbs so they can be one row closer to the door!

Oht he Jeeps just park on the curb because theyre trying to be cool: “look everyone I can park ‘off road’, I drive a 4×4 not a common town car”.
